A man who died for over 11 minutes has recalled finding a ‘state of absolute tranquillity’.
Near-death experiences (NDE) are something which provides a constant source of fascination of us mortal human beings. Other than the fact that they occur during a life-threatening situations or clinical death, we know very little about NDEs, with beliefs, spanning from scientific to religious, varying from person to person.
What we do know about NDEs is that they often have a profound and life-altering impact on the person who experiences it.

It’s for this reason why most of us find ourselves equally creeped out and intrigued by stories of NDEs, with people often reporting seeing bright lights, tunnels, life reviews and being guided by a loved one who is already deceased.
For paramedic Adam Tapp, however, he recalled feeling a state of ‘absolute tranquillity’ during his NDE.
Sharing his experience with YouTube channel Beyond the Veil, Tapp explained that he’d been dead for over 11 minutes after being electrocuted during a woodworking project.
As doctors worked to restart his heart, Tapp remembers going on a spiritual journey which changed his outlook on life.
“I felt like I was falling for ages,” he recalled. “And then it was just like waking up from a nap someplace that I’d always been.

“I was seeing spherically from a single point outwards,” he said. “Like I had just become a single point of awareness.
“| wasn’t dead, I wasn’t anything… just perfect absolute contentment.”
Tapp then recalls becoming one with ‘the fabric of the universe’ calling the experience ‘perfect’ and a ‘natural progression’ in the cycle of life.
However, this experience abruptly stopped when the paramedic experienced being ‘electrocuted again’ which he know believes was from defibrillation.
After emergency responders where able to save his life, Tapp remained in a coma for eight hours, later waking up in hospital with no understanding about how much time had passed.
Upon regaining consciousness, Tapp recalled being hyperaware of his body and went through a period of feeling as though his life ‘wasn’t real’ before eventually finding acceptance once again.
“I was left with his overwhelming sense of that this is just a stage, this is simply an evolution.” he said. “It was going back to the source of everything.”
Tapp then went on to explain why having an NDE had led him to become ‘deeply spiritual’
“Something that I have noticed has changed in me, my personality is my ability to appreciate a moment as opposed to applying meaning to everything.” he added.
“Death is quite possibly the most natural thing that happens. I think that death in itself is just simply a transition.”
