Flores was on his stand-up tour Butterfly Effect, which began in Portland, Oregon on January 10 and was scheduled to conclude in San Diego, California on April 19.
Following the devastating announcement of the comedian’s passing, tributes have poured in on social media.
One fan says: “This is unbelievably devastating and shocking news. Sending so much love and supportive energy to all who loved Ken– family, friends, and all his supporters. I just saw him live on tour in Portland earlier this month, January 11th.”
Another writes: “We are so devastated by his loss. My sincerest condolences to his family, friends, and team. He brought many laughs to millions of people. He truly will not be forgotten.”
“I didn’t get to go to his shows but never missed a laugh after watching his videos,” a third user pens. “RIP, continue your jokes up there man.”A fourth person comments: “Prayers for the family. Rest in peace, your show was truly one of the best shows I’ve seen.”
Fellow comedians have also shared their tributes, with Neema Naz writing: “I was hoping this wasn’t real. What a tragic and devastating loss to the world. Ken was a gem and was going to be a star one day. RIP.”
“My brother, it was a blessing to know you and share you with the world. You changed my life. You had so much left to do. My heart hurts for everyone whose life you made better,” René Humberto Valdiviezo says.
Flores died on January 28, with his family confirming the upsetting news on his Instagram.
The post reads: “It is with great sadness that we confirm the untimely passing of our friend, brother, and son, Kenyi Flores.
“Please respect our privacy at this time as we are all shocked and devastated by this loss.”
Heartbreakingly, just a day before Flores died, he posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) and expressing his excitement for his tour: “I started my tour a couple weeks ago and I’m proud to say I’ve done every single show.
“Five in Portland one in Albuquerque and four in Atlanta without a single drop of alcohol. Nervous for Phoenix next weekend but I think I got it I’m not sober just wanna chill a bit.”
TMZ reports that the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Flores died on Tuesday afternoon at his home following a cardiac arrest.
The news outlet reports that CPR was performed, however, the comedian was pronounced dead at the scene.
