Preliminary examinations show the inmate’s cause of death to be ‘asphyxia due to compression of the neck’

The FBI has confirmed it is looking into the death of a prison inmate after bodycam footage showed prison officers beating him just hours earlier.

Inmate Robert Brooks, 43, had just been transferred from the Mohawk Correctional Facility to the Marcy Correctional Facility in upstate New York when the beating took place on December 9.

He had been serving a 12-year sentence for first-degree assault and, for reasons that are currently unclear, had been taken to the prison’s medical facility after arriving at Marcy.

Bodycam footage from the prison shows Brooks sitting on an examination table, where one prison officer appears to place something in his mouth. Multiple officers are also seen beating Brooks, striking him repeatedly in the face and groin.

The footage was made publicly available on December 27 (New York State Attorney General's Office)

One hits Brooks in the stomach with a shoe, and the inmate is at one point lifted up by his neck and dropped back on to the table.

Brooks died the day after the beating, with preliminary examinations determining his cause of death to be ‘asphyxia due to compression of the neck’.

The final results of Brooks’ autopsy are still pending, the Associated Press reports.

The bodycam footage was released on Friday (December 27) by New York Attorney General Letitia James, who has opened an investigation into Brooks’ death.

James said she did not ‘take lightly the release of this video’, but explained she chose to share it because she has a ‘responsibility and duty to provide the Brooks family, their loved ones, and all New Yorkers with transparency and accountability’.

Following the release of the footage, the FBI has confirmed that it is looking into the case.

In a statement to TMZ, the federal agency said: “The FBI Albany Field Office and the Department of Justice are reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding the death of Robert L. Brooks to determine the appropriate federal response. As this is an ongoing review, we are not able to comment further at this time.”

Elizabeth Mazur, a lawyer representing the Brooks family, has said that the bodycam footage captures the ‘horrific and extreme nature of the deadly attack’.

“He deserved to live, and everyone else living in Marcy Correctional Facility deserves to know they do not have to live in fear of violence at the hands of prison staff,” Mazur said.

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul said she was ‘outraged and horrified’ by the ‘senseless killing’, and said 13 correctional officers and a nurse implicated in the attack will face termination.

Adult film star Austin Wolf has been arrested and charged in New York over child pornography offences.

The adult actor, whose real name is Justin Smith, is accused of sending and receiving ‘hundreds of video of child pornography’, according to the New York Attorney’s Office.

The Southern District of New York claims Smith, 43, used Telegram to exchange the videos with another person, whose phone was seized by the FBI.

Officials say the videos depicted children as young as infants, including a video of a 10-year-old being raped.

Federal authorities searched Smith’s Manhattan apartment in April, with prosecutors saying they found an SD card containing hundreds of video of child porn.

US Attorney Damian Williams said: “As alleged, Justin Heath Smith received and distributed hundreds of recordings containing child pornography, including a ghastly video showing a young child bound, beaten, and raped.

“Our investigation into Smith is ongoing, and we urge anyone with information about Smith’s conduct to call the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI. Together with our law enforcement partners, we will relentlessly pursue those predators who victimize children and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.”

Meanwhile, FBI Assistant Director in Charge James Smith added: “I want to make it clear: those who distribute child sexual abuse images prey upon the most vulnerable in our society. Each image is a crime scene, leaving lasting scars on innocent victims.

“The FBI is relentless in our pursuit of these perpetrators. We will track them down, arrest them, and ensure they face justice for the harm they cause.”

Professor facing charges of sexual abuse is returning to teach ‘legal and ethical’ class

Professor facing charges of sexual abuse is returning to teach ‘legal and ethical’ class

Menachem ‘Mendy’ Kiwak is facing charges of sexual abuse, harassment and forcible touching to which he has pleaded not guilty

Warning: This article contains discussion of sexual assault which some readers may find distressing.

A university professor has raised concerns among fellow faculty members and the public after it was found that he will continue teaching – despite facing charges of sexual assault.

Touro University adjunct professor Menachem ‘Mendy’ Kiwak is scheduled to return to the classroom next month to teach a class on ethics, according to an online schedule of classes cited by New York Post.

Kiwak’s class will be both online and at an unspecified ‘offsite’ location, and will focus on ‘professional, legal & ethical issues in counseling’, according to the outlet.

His work with the university comes after Kiwak was accused of breaking his code of conduct by coercing a private patient of his.

The woman, who had been sexually assaulted, sought his help as a counsellor.

But he is accused of having coerced her into having sex multiple times.

The victim filed a complaint against Kiwak with the New York State Office of Professional Discipline, which is a body that investigates complaints alleging sexual misconduct and assault.

If found guilty, he could lose his licence.

A spokesperson for the university Jordan Isenstadt told The New York Post that Kiwak ‘is not scheduled to work this semester’ and remains on ‘administrative leave’.

However, when asked to clarify whether the professor would be working online to teach as his class schedule reveals him as the instructor of the ethics class – which 19 students have registered for – Isenstadt didn’t respond.

A fellow Touro professor also spoke out about his return to work, calling it ‘an absolute travesty’.

“I am surprised that Touro is allowing him to continue teaching given the nature of the charges.”

While Kiwak was charged in May with sexual abuse, harassment and forcible touching, he pleaded not guilty, and sources confirmed that he was allowed to finish out the school year.

But colleagues are alleging that this might be due to his mother-in-law’s position at the university.

His mother-in-law reportedly chairs the behavioral sciences department where Kiwak works, and one professor told The Post: “I have no doubt that if his mother-in-law wasn’t a big shot in the college, he would have been gone by now.”

Allegedly, before Kiwak was arrested, the accuser’s advocate spoke to Walkenfield about the allegations and shared complaints by female students.

According to his own students, he allegedly talked about porn in classes and used sexual language.

He also allegedly argued that marital rape doesn’t exist, despite working as a marriage counsellor.

UNILAD has reached out to Touro University for comment.

Chilling footage emerges of man who lured two police officers to their death with fake 911 call

Chilling footage emerges of man who lured two police officers to their death with fake 911 call

A new report says an earlier interaction with Connecticut police may have set Nicholas Brutcher on a path to murder

Chilling bodycam footage shows a man angrily confronting police who later that night would lure two cops to their deaths in a deadly ambush.

In October 2022, Lt. Dustin DeMonte and Sgt. Alex Hamzy were tragically killed on duty in Connecticut following what was later revealed to be a hoax 911 call.

On the night in question, Nathan Brutcher got into an altercation with a man at a bar, which eventually spilled out into the establishment’s parking lot.

Police were called to intervene and ultimately ticketed Nathan and his brother Nicholas for creating a public disturbance.

They were also stopped from driving home as Nicholas was too drunk while Nathan had an expired license.

During the ordeal Nicholas got into it with the officers who arrived at the scene and went on a foul-mouthed rant at them.

He made comments such as ‘I could outrun this motherf***er’.

Nicholas is said to have repeatedly tried to get into a fight with one of the officers as well.

During his quarrel with the officers, Nathan tried to calm down his brother and even suggested that police handcuffed him.

A report that was conducted by The Office of the Inspector General was released on Wednesday (June 26) and concluded that Nicholas’ rampage was likely fuelled by the interaction he had with police earlier on the night in question.

The report reads: “It must be emphasized that Nicholas Brutcher is the murderer here. It would be wrong to place any blame for the attack on the traffic stop officers or others in Nicholas Brutcher’s life.”

Newly released dashcam video footage sees the police vehicle on its way to Nicholas’ home, which captures him hiding in the bushes.

Other video footage shows the interaction between Nicholas and the officers who pulled him and his brother over.

Nicholas mocks the height of one of the officers he is speaking to and insists that he makes ‘a f**k tonne more’ money than they do in the force.

“People are proud of you?” the officer goes on to ask.

Nicholas replies: “My parents definitely are.”

Later when fatally shooting a different officer, Nicholas reportedly shouted: “How proud are you of me? How proud?”

It’s unclear if he was referring to the earlier conversation when he made these remarks.

OnlyFans model charged with murdering boyfriend told police she tried to save him in disturbing new bodycam footage

OnlyFans model charged with murdering boyfriend told police she tried to save him in disturbing new bodycam footage

Courtney Clenney is seen covered in her boyfriend’s blood

Warning: This article contains graphic images and video which some readers may find distressing.

New footage shows Courtney Clenney covered in blood as she pleaded with police to let her see her boyfriend as he lay bleeding from a stab wound.

Former OnlyFans model Clenney has been charged by police for fatally stabbing her cryptocurrency trader boyfriend Christian Obumseli.

Police have charged the 27-year-old with second-degree murder for the incident that occurred on April 3, 2022, at their Miami apartment.

Clenney has pleaded not guilty to the charge and her attorneys have argued that she acted in self-defence.

New footage of the moment police discovered the body of Obumseli bleeding at their home has been released and obtained by WPLG.

You can watch the upsetting video below:

In the footage, Clenney is found holding up Obumseli and is covered head to toe in his blood.

As police attempt to remove her, she can be heard saying ‘baby, baby, baby, wake up’ and ‘no, no, no,’

“I can’t let this happen, it wasn’t me,” she said as police pulled her hands behind her back and cuffed her.

As paramedics and police attended to Obumseli, a police officer guarded Clenney and his body cam footage shows the OnlyFans model telling the officer ‘I’m terrified for him’ and ‘I was so scared’.

“I am covered in his blood because I was trying to save him… I need him, he was my other half,” she added.

The model had previously told officers investigating the case that Obumseli had pushed her and thrown her to the floor.

She then alleged that she grabbed a knife and thew it at Obumseli from about ten feet away.

Medical examiners who performed the autopsy on Obumseli said his wounds could not have been caused by a knife thrown from that distance.

After the stabbing Clenney called the police and the 911 audio revealed that she said ‘baby, I’m so sorry’

She did not tell the operator that she had stabbed him, but cried about how sorry she was, according to reports.

Obumseli, in the background, could be heard crying out: “I can’t feel my arm.”

Police have charged the 27-year-old with second-degree murder for the incident.

Clenney has previously been arrested for domestic battery in Las Vegas and the police have been called to the couple’s home when they lived in Austin, Texas.

When they moved to Miami, at the beginning of 2022, staff and residents at the building reported multiple domestic disturbance complaints too
