“I come from a very rich family history, and those are some big shoes to fill,” he admitted. “I don’t know if I ever could, but I wear it with — it’s like a badge of honor. You know, my siblings and I, we each kind of got a piece of him in different ways,” added Prince, who was referring to his dad and the Jackson family.

This has included partnerships with other organizations to amplify their reach and deliver innovative solutions tailored to the aspirations of the youth they serve.

While many might expect tales of extravagance, Prince described a much simpler reality, rooted in family and the values Michael instilled in him. Michael’s deliberate effort to create a nurturing environment left a lasting impression on Prince.

“The positive experiences he gave me and that he made an effort to give me in my childhood really resonated and stuck with me, and clearly had a positive impact on my life. I would like to be able to share that with the world,” he said.

“When we were growing up, my father would say, ‘We could have nothing, but you look around in this room, your brother, your sister, and me, that’s all you’ll ever have.’ And that always stuck with my siblings and I [sic], and we have such a close relationship,” disclosed Prince.

As the eldest, Prince felt a sense of responsibility to lead by example, a role his father encouraged him to embrace. “My father would always tell me, I have to make sure that the group is taken care of and that I have to kind of be the leader,” he said.
