Jason adores his kids and has always been intentional about parenting, drawing from his own experiences of growing up without a father at home. This has deeply shaped how he approaches raising Nakoa-Wolf, ensuring that his presence, guidance, and connection remain constant and meaningful.
“I didn’t know what it takes to be a dad. And I don’t want to just tell my son, ‘Because I said so.’ I really want to connect, and I want him to be vulnerable and open,” the actor explained.
The “Sweet Girl” star wears his love for his children, close to his heart—literally. He has their first names tattooed over his chest, inscribed in their own childhood handwriting. The tattoos were inspired by the original papers where they first learned to write their names, a permanent reminder of their bond.
In March 2024, Jason shared how deeply fulfilled he feels, attributing his happiness to the health and success of his family. “I’m living all the dreams I’ve ever wanted to do. Being a father, kids are healthy and strong and doing well in school, and just beautiful. And so I’m in this place of just having gratitude,” he expressed.
In a previous interview, when Jason was asked how his real-life experience as a father influences his acting, he admitted that, while he tries to keep his roles separate from his family life, some of his true feelings inevitably come through.
“It’s impossible to fully capture what it’s like to be a parent without tapping into that deep love and willingness to do anything for your children,” he shared.
Aside from his career, Jason has poured himself into building memories and teaching life skills through his passions. Inspired by his mother, he developed a love for skateboarding and rock climbing, experiences that instilled in him a sense of freedom and bravery. Now, he’s passing that legacy on to his children.
“If I teach them to skate, they can be bold and brave in any terrain,” he said. “If I teach them to climb, they can push themselves and gracefully move through fear,” the actor continued. “Every time my children play, they can feel their papa is always with them,” Jason added.
Despite his rising fame, the Hollywood star maintained that he kept life normal with his kids. He tried to be “just dad” when they spent time together, saying, “[…] We go camping, play music, go rock climbing […]. When I’m with my babies, I just try to be dad.”
In November 2022, the “Justice League” star attended the premiere of his film “Slumberland” and walked the red carpet with his two kids. “My babies and my family are the most important thing,” the doting father stated.
