The page describes Kiker as “one of the most sincere souls” and “most hilarious person of all,” adding: “Douglas, a beloved son, brother, father and friend.”
It continues, “We are now left with the difficult task of bringing him home and covering funeral expenses. We are reaching out for help to honor Douglas’s memory and give him a proper farewell.”

Thank you for your love, support, and generosity during this incredibly difficult time. We greatly appreciate each and everyone of yall.”
Kiker first appeared on American Idol in 2020 as a contestant with no prior singing experience. His raw and emotional audition earned him a standing ovation, even bringing Katy Perry to tears.
After advancing to Hollywood Week, Kiker performed ‘Ain’t No Mountain High Enough’, though he struggled with song selection and did not make it to the Top 20.
Despite his elimination, he remained proud of his journey, saying: “I think I did pretty well for it being my first time.”
In 2021, a year after his American Idol appearance, Kiker was arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence in Alabama. According to TMZ, police responded to a domestic incident involving Kiker and an unnamed woman who called 911.
He was taken into custody and held on a $1,000 bond.
