Plenty of us know the Scot best as detective sergeant Steve Arnott in Line of Duty, no matter how long ago the series came to an end.
But he’s appeared in a variety of shows since including The Rig, Our House, and The Nest with his latest role as Martyn in Fear.
While getting set up in their new home, they meet their downstairs neighbour Jan (Solly McLeod) and he seems nice enough at first.
However, he ends up making things a total nightmare and the family is pushed to their limits.
As the creepy neighbour lurks down below, there’s a sex scene between Martyn and Rebecca. And Compston explained the question he always asks before deciding if he’s up for one or not.
“With all the sex scenes and nudity, I always think, ‘Does it further the story?’,” he said to The Sun. “And when it furthers the story, I’m all for it. But it is hard graft to prepare. I live on takeout food when I’m not at home.”

So, when Compston is getting ready for filming, he cuts ‘right back and starts eating right’.
“You can’t wait to get your topless scene out of the way so you can go straight to KFC,” he added.
While he’s done these kind of scenes before, the 40-year-old admitted he still gets a little self-conscious.
“There is a lot of pressure, especially if you’ve got a topless scene,” he explained.
“Now you can’t just be slim, you have to be f***ing ripped.”
But while people ‘can be quite cruel’, he said he’ll never go as far as to use the likes of Ozempic or Mounjaro to help him lose weight.

“It’s very weird, that stuff,” Compston said.
“I don’t want to criticise anybody that’s on it, but I remember from a distance seeing somebody and I went, ‘Wow they look great’.
The actor said he just doesn’t ‘trust it’ as he added: “I feel like people can get hooked on stuff like that pretty quick and I really don’t think it’s a healthy way to lose weight.
Fear is now streaming on Prime Video.
