The wait is finally over for I’m A Celeb fans as the mother of all Bushtucker trials will be on our screens tonight.

For the past couple of weeks this year’s campmates have been subjected to a number of unpleasant trials involving a whole host of creepy crawlies, snakes and some genuinely vile eating tasks.

But not tonight, as the ITV reality series is sacking off tormenting the celebrities with the local wildlife in favour of one very epic assault course.

That’s right, it’s time for the one and only Celebrity Cyclone.

But have you ever wondered how much preparation goes into pulling off the epic trial?

Thankfully ITV has been kind enough to lift the curtain on what goes on behind-the-scenes.

Which campmates will face the Celebrity Cyclone?

Following the double elimination of GK Barry and Alan Halsall last night, the final four celebrities in the jungle are as follows: Coleen Rooney, Danny Jones, Reverend Richard Coles and Oti Mabuse.

The campmates will take on the Cyclone during tonight’s (7 December) episode before a final elimination ahead of Sunday’s grand finale.

So what’s in store for the celebrities tonight?

A few years back ITV shared a rundown on all the obstacles campmates can expect to face on the assault course, featuring water cannons, various projectiles and an almighty amount of slime.

The trial debuted back in 2006, which saw Matt Willis, Myleene Klass and Jason Donovan become the Cyclone’s guinea pig celebs, and has since gone on to become a firm favourite among fans.

In order to complete the trial, celebrities must don their capes and make their way up an assault course with a series of giant stars and hold them in place before time runs out while fighting off obstacles.

These obstacles include: 125kg Holi powder, gym balls, 100 footballs, water cannons and a whopping 500 litres of slime.

In order to ensure the trial runs smoothly there are also 100 crew members on hand who get the privilege of lobbing various projectiles at the celebrities.

Sounds like an ideal job to be honest.

 

However the Celebrity Cyclone isn’t always fun and games, with presenter Declan Donnelly previously revealing he ended up needing six months of physio after partaking.

Recalling the incident during an interview with The Mirror, co-presenter Ant McPartlin recalled their experience doing the trial for charity, with Dec needing treatment after popping his shoulder on the course.

See, it’s a lot harder than it looks.
