Super Bowl LIX had a shock score that no one predicted

Super Bowl LIX saw the Philadelphia Eagles crowned as the 2025 winners of the Lombardi Trophy in a shock score result that no one predicted.

The Eagles’ opposition for the big match was the Kansas City Chiefs who were looking to make it three Super Bowl victories in a row; something that had never been done before in the history of the NFL.

But it proved to be a step too far for quarterback Patrick Mahomes, tight end Travis Kelce and head coach Andy Reid.

Despite being the slight favourites for the big game, with many expecting a tight result due to this, the score was nothing of sorts with the Eagles winning the match incredibly comfortably by 40 to 22.

And while respectable, most of those Chiefs points were scored when the game was already won.

Jalen Hurts, the Eagles quarterback, was crowned the Super Bowl LIX MVP as he won his first Super Bowl in his second appearance, losing the first back in 2023 to Mahomes’ Chiefs.

Away from the sport, all eyes were on Kendrick Lamar and his halftime show. Everyone had one question; would he play his Grammy award-winning ‘Not Like Us’ diss track aimed at rap rival Drake?

Before that, though, viewers were left in stitches when Mad Men actor Jon Hamm made a major faux pas when announcing the Chiefs to the field for the big game.

The camera also panned to President Donald Trump and daughter Ivanka Trump, with viewers divided over what happened during that viral moment.

During the breaks, the adverts and promos got the attention of many. From Tom Cruise’s piece to camera to big up the huge game to Kanye West spending millions on another Super Bowl advert filmed on his iPhone, it was one that got the attention of many on social media.

Taylor Swift was in attention to cheer on boyfriend Kelce but found herself booed when the camera panned to her.

People were also asking where her best friend Blake Lively was after the actress appeared next to her at last year’s Super Bowl.

For 2025, Lively was nowhere to be seen.

Back to Kendrick. And yes, he absolutely played ‘Not Like Us’ – but only after introducing a very special guest to fans.

Leaving out one very brutal lyric directed at Drake, viewers spotted a gesture he made to the camera at the very same moment.

Ultimately, some fans think Kendrick brought it back to Trump and his politics.

After all, the MAGA man is never too far away from the headlines, no matter what they might be.
