While the unfollowing caused something of a kerfuffle as everyone rushed in to fill the confusing void with their own preferred explanations, the man himself has come out and said what happened.
Somewhat of an internet storm was caused this morning when Justin Bieber unfollowed wife Hailey on Instagram (Instagram/@justinbieber)
He’s since followed his wife again, and writing on his Instagram Stories, the musician said: “Someone went on my account and unfollowed my wife. S**t is getting suss out here.”
It is indeed suspicious as to who would go on Bieber’s Instagram account with the purpose of unfollowing his wife, but now you know what happened.
Considering he’d just recently posted pictures of himself and wife Hailey out ice skating together before this furore, it seems like this was a bit of a storm in a teacup.
On the other hand, just as one mystery has been solved another presents itself as to the identity of the person who went on Bieber’s Instagram and made the decision to unfollow his wife for him.
He’d posted pictures of her, she liked his most recent post and all seems well between them, so if you were putting together one of those big theory boards to figure this out you may as well put it back.
Last year the couple welcomed their first child together, a baby boy they called Jack Blues Bieber after Justin’s dad’s middle name.
Thankfully Bieber Jr has one of the more normal names in the world of celebrities.

The couple have supported each other through various trials and tribulations, with Justin having to cut short his world tour due to health issues back in 2022 before later revealing the progress he’d made in his recovery from Ramsay Hunt Syndrome.
Bieber also turned down the chance to perform at the Super Bowl last year as he apparently ‘wasn’t feeling it’ and Hailey has supported him through these times.
Presuming their years of marriage can survived him unfollowing her on Instagram (which he says wasn’t even him) then they should be alright for the foreseeable future.
On the other hand Bieber fans who thought this was supposed to herald some sort of new album as part of a ‘PR stunt’ are likely to be disappointed.
