Later that month, Alex and Mauricio revealed the baby’s gender. The couple was in their backyard with their dog when Mauricio held a cupcake meant for the gender reveal, but the dog ate it all before they could see.
Alex brought a second cupcake, and the dog only ate half, revealing the color pink, indicating that they were expecting a girl. The couple shouted in joy. The caption of the video read, “We’re having a……🤭 Hopefully George loves his little sister half as much as he loved those cupcakes!”
During Alex’s pregnancy, a beautiful baby shower was also held at one of their friend’s parents’ homes in Dallas. The event featured a mimosa bar, petit fours, and plenty of Dr. Pepper, along with delicious finger foods.
Alex opened her gifts while everyone admired her and took pictures. Ree noted that it was a typical baby shower, though the gorgeous details stood out, thanks to Alex’s friends. For Ree, it was an emotional day, as the mom-to-be was her daughter. She teared up a few times, enjoyed the finger sandwiches, and even had a surprise visit from George and Mauricio.
Furthermore, before her baby girl was born, Alex revealed how they settled on her name. During a Q&A session on Instagram, one of her followers inquired whether Sofia was a family name or if they just adored it. Alex replied, “We just really loved it 🥰!”
Sofia, which has a Greek origin and means wisdom, is written on one of the pillowcases in her pink-themed nursery, which also features a grasscloth mural with white blossoms, bluebirds, lemons, and rolling hills.
Blue-striped drapes balance the pink tones, with a pink pillow and a blue pillow. White furniture, including a crib and dresser, offers a retro-glam vibe, complemented by a bowed mirror. Scalloped details are seen in the floor lamp and basket.
Alex added a pair of pink cowboy boots on the dresser, and a plush rocking horse gifted by Sofia’s great-grandmother, adding a charming touch. Stuffed toys are still being added to the collection in the gorgeous nursery.
Alex and Mauricio are thrilled to begin their new journey as parents. From being friends to becoming engaged and married, this new milestone is another chapter in their beautiful story together. The couple tied the knot on May 1, 2022, at the Drummond Ranch in Osage County, Oklahoma, and are now venturing into parenthood.
