Daniel Radcliffe has a fascinating career starring in bizarre indie films of his choice and is a staunch defender of the transgender community, Emma Watson is a UN Women Goodwill advisor, and Rupert Grint has a sneakily good acting resume (and an ice cream van he bought with his Potter money).
While some Harry Potter actors continue to make headlines, with one recently joining OnlyFans, not many have had major controversies despite growing up in the public eye.
One major Harry Potter actor was, however, involved in controversy which led to them not returning for the final two films of the series despite starring in the first six.
This actor was Jamie Waylett, the star who portrayed Slytherin student, Vincent Crabbe.
Waylett’s role was cut from the final two films without explanation, with his role as the secondary muscle to Draco Malfoy taken over by Blaise Zabini, who was played by Louis Cordice.
Despite this, there is information out there about what led to Waylett not being brought back for the final films.
The actor encountered legal trouble when he was arrested after being pulled over by police, later finding a cannabis farm in his room worth £2,000.

The arrest took place the same year filming began for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, the first film Waylett didn’t take part in.
Tom Felton spoke about the actor’s arrest when promoting Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, saying that he and Waylett were never ‘great friends’.
He went on to say: “Jamie was never one to quite appreciate where he was and what he was doing. It’s massively disappointing, I don’t really have too much to say other than the fact that he’s let himself down hugely.
“It’s a massive disappointment for himself and for the franchise.”

Waylett also released rap music which has gone viral on multiple occasions under the name ‘Bully’ (UKOVERSTOOD / YouTube)
In addition to this, he later served prison time for taking part in the 2011 London riots.
Since being released from prison, however, Waylett has stayed out of legal troubles.
The actor has released music under the name ‘Bully’ and is listed as being a rapper on his Instagram account.
In addition to this, Waylett ran a Cameo page in which he charged at least £154 for personalised videos.

He has retreated from the public eye in recent years, however, last posting on Instagram in late 2022.
Introducing his Cameo page, Waylett said: “I played Vincent Crabbe in the Harry Potter movies one to six and I’m very excited to have the opportunity to give the people and loved ones in your life that you care about a special message.
“That’s it from me, I look forward to hearing from you. Slytherin for life.”
